Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has reassured the stakeholders of Orlu Zone that he deeply values their trust, acceptance, and confidence in his leadership, emphasizing that he will not take their support for granted.

During a grand reception organized by the Orlu zone stakeholders in Nkwerre, Governor Uzodimma highlighted that his ascension to power was a divine intervention aimed at liberating Imo State from its struggles.

He affirmed, “We needed to unlock the door to bring out Imo State, and that was what I went straight to do. It is still work in progress.” Governor Uzodimma urged the residents to witness the tangible results of his administration’s efforts, emphasizing that his campaign is grounded in demonstrating the transformative changes already achieved.  He stated, “You have seen what I have been able to do in less than four years, so if you allow me eight years, imagine what I will do. My campaign is based on you seeing what I have been able to do.” While pointing out that he is the governor of Imo State and not solely of Orlu, Governor Uzodimma emphasized the importance of unity among all sons and daughters of Orlu Zone. He underscored, “I am a governor of Imo State who comes from Orlu.”

Addressing the Imo Charter of Equity, the Governor stated that it is now paramount for those who have previously expressed concerns about Orlu’s dominance in power to rally behind Orlu and allow them to complete their tenure before power rotates to Owerri. Governor Uzodimma clarified that the implementation of the charter would depend on the willingness of Owerri to assume power when the time comes, but also noted that if Owerri is not ready, Okigwe will be considered.  The Governor emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of the charter, stating, “It is in the interest of all of us to be governed, politically speaking, by that charter of equity.”
